Barrington Hills Mansions – Expansive Homes on Acreage for Privacy

Many buyers look to the Barrington Hills mansions to find homes nestled on large acreage. Barrington Hills has long appealed to buyers who want a quiet retreat, away from noise, away from work, away from stress. Did sellers manage to sell their Barrington Hills mansions in 2011?

Let’s first decided what  Barrington Hills mansions are. Many homes in the Barrington area are between 3000 and 6000 square feet. So I would have to say Barrington Hills mansions must be properties with at least 50% more square footage. A 10,000 square foot property is certainly a size-able house so I am going to make that my benchmark for this report.

In 2011 no (zero nada none) Barrington Hills Mansions were sold. Only 2 were sold in 2010. There are 21 Barrington Hills mansions for sale with prices ranging from $3,400,000 to $14,900,000. Some of the homes are new construction but are now 3 or 4 years old; due to the real estate market slump they sit and wait for a buyer. Based on sales over the last 2 years it could be a long wait.

Barrington Hills Mansions – Looking For Buyers

If you have a mansion home for sale the one item you must if patience. With limited buyers in the higher price ranges, selling your home will not be at all like those sellers at the price ranges of $600,000 for example. Your buyer pool is very limited. Naturally I would want to see your home advertised all over the internet and especially in a story and video format.

A story format would be many photos and a full description of each photo. The video format would be moving around the home from room to room, and then a narrative recorded and laid over the top.

I see one of our available mansions does have a buyer. That home has been available for a while now and the patience has finally paid off. If you have a mansion to sell, there is not best time to list for you other than when you are ready to.

What About The Rest of Barrington Hills in 2011?

A quick review shows 40 sales of homes. List to sales price ratio was on average 82% and the average marketing time was 362 days. The average sales price was $900,332 but the median was $650,000. Meaning half of the sales were less than that amount and the other half higher. There are currently 96 homes for sale in Barrington Hills. Here are the mansions:
