Deer Park Illinois is a small village in Lake County so there will never be many sales on a monthly basis. That said we did have 2 closings in December. There were 3 in November and 4 in October, so we can see the expected slowing trend as the Holidays arrived. With 35 sales during the year 2012 that’s an average of let’s call it 3 a month, so no real variation each month.
If we look at sales in Deer Park over the last 6 years we can see 2012 was the best of those 6 years but not wildly different to 2010 or 2008.

So are we seeing better sales in Deer Park or not?
Reservedly I would say yes. Why so Corinne? Well there never are very many homes for sale in Deer Park; it is a small village with about 1,000 homes but residents like living there, it’s still quite a sought after place, close to shopping and the top of Highway 53 for commuters. The area is quiet, the homes fall into the median pricing for the Barrington area so the buyer pool is at it’s greatest.
As I write this post there are 19 homes listed in Deer Park. One is temporarily not available, 4 are under contract. In the price range $400k to $700k there are only 14 homes to look at. During 2012 the average marketing time was 142 days but we had nine homes with contracts in under two weeks and several more in less than a month.
